Band Together Festival 2024: A Celebration of Music and Community
In partnership with the Band Together Foundation, School Bands Australia proudly brought its students to the inaugural Band Together Festival, held at Riverside Theatres on July 2 and 3. This exciting event featured performances from students across Greater Western Sydney, including those from Northmead Performing Arts High School, Cumberland High School, and 15 of our concert bands: Carlingford West PS, Cecil Hills PS, Denham Court PS, Toongabbie PS, Burnside PS, Putney PS, Oatlands PS, Canterbury PS, Daceyville PS, Dundas PS, Patrician Brothers College Fairfield, Shelley PS, Lynwood Park PS, Vardys Road PS, and Parramatta PS.
The festival united over 700 young musicians, offering them the unique experience of performing on a professional stage while learning the importance of theatre etiquette and audience engagement. Students showcased their talents and hard work, making the festival a day filled with incredible performances and lasting memories.
On Wednesday night, four of our bands had the privilege to perform in the Gala Night alongside the NSW Police Band. With a sold-out show, we are incredibly proud of all the musicians who took the stage over the two-day festival.
Band Together Foundation not only provided a platform for students to refine their musical skills but also highlighted the importance of community, creativity, and collaboration in music education.
We extend our sincere thanks to the educators, parents, and sponsors who made this unforgettable event possible.
We are excited to announce that we will be participating again in 2025. Stay tuned for dates and more information!
