Ten years ago, School Bands Australia began with just three schools and a simple belief: primary students deserve access to high-quality music education.

Today, we’re proud to be working with over 40 schools, supporting thousands of students and families along the way. What started as a small program has grown into a community built on passion, learning, and the transformative power of music.

Over the past decade, we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible students, dedicated educators, and supportive families. We’ve heard countless stories of confidence gained, friendships formed, and young people discovering abilities they didn’t know they had.

At School Bands Australia, our focus has always been about more than learning an instrument. Music education develops transferable life skills, including commitment, teamwork, dedication, trust, discipline, and resilience.

These skills are widely recognised and valued across many areas of student life, from classrooms to sporting fields, yet band programs are still too often overlooked in conversations about student development. We believe music deserves a seat at the table.

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made and deeply grateful to the families, schools, and communities who have trusted us along the way.
